Daniel trained with RADA Artistic Director, Michael Hargreaves at the Actors Studio in 2012. He also graduated in Performing Arts at Bath Spa University in 2010 under the guidance of the founder of East 15 Acting School, Gunduz Kalic. He is an avid screenwriter as well as an actor. Despite being a late bloomer into acting, Daniel Harland has and still is regularly getting work from all aspects of the acting world. He first gained local praise when he played 'Ruben' in New College Durham's adaptation of Peter Straughan's play, "Bones" in 2003. He then went on to star in Allan Wynyard's stage version of "Wings of Desire" at the Newcastle Playhouse in the same year. He later starred in stage productions such as A Streetcar Named Desire (2007), Faust (2009) and Beautiful Thing (2010) which he received more critical praise from critics when it was performed at the Theatre Royal in Bath. His film and TV credits include Atonement (2007), The Runner (2008), Piggy (2011) and Tim Burton's Dark Shadows (2012). He also played the role of lead gangster, Terry in Britain's Biggest Heists Season Two (2010). He received critical acclaim for playing 'Jake' in The Runner, who is mixed up in the murky world of drugs and violence in the slums of Bristol.

Has one younger brother.Attended Bath Spa University (2007).He is an avid Sunderland supporter and has been to watch their football matches since he was three years old.Attended the Actor's Studio in London (2011).Aside from being an actor, Daniel is also a writer and has written screenplays for three films which are being finalised.Began acting at age 5, when he played Joseph in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at school.His parents, Denise and Paul, are both teachers who were involved in Labour's 'public service' strike in London alongside Alan Rickman.His younger brother Joey Harland, is a film director.His favourite sport is Football. He signed up for Sunderland FC Boy's Academy in 1999 only to turn his attention to Acting at the last minute.His father, Paul, was an amateur actor in the 80's and attended the same actor workshop as Gina McKee and Chris Cowie.His uncle, Clive Neal, is a professor in Geology and regularly supervises programs for NASA in the US.Always aspired to be a comedian but kept 'bottling out' of stand-up opportunities whilst at University.His favourite actors of all time are Kiefer Sutherland and Christian Bale. Is also a massive fan of Al Pacino.Is cousins to The Webb Twins (David & Tony). They played Stanley and Bruce Matthews in the TV sitcom "Hi-de-Hi!" from 1979-1987.Holds a Post Grade 8 award, both in Acting and Musical Theatre with Guildhall School of Music and Drama (2005).
